We fund research and support to improve the lives of children with IBD

Story

Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is made up of 2 main conditions; Crohn's Disease and Ulcerative Colitis plus other less common conditions.

IBD affects the digestive system and can cause symptoms such as pain, vomiting, nutritional deficiencies, weight loss, diahorrea plus many non intestinal symptoms such as eye, skin and joint involvement.

They are fluctuation conditions with periods of flares and remission. Medication and sometimes surgery can help control the conditions but currently there is NO cure.

I am one of a few church members who have IBD.

I have had IBD for 19 years and both of the charities have helped me through my journey with the condition.

As with many charities COVID has meant that the majority of the charity income (normally through fundraising) has stopped and, they are under enormous pressure to provide a satisfactory level of support to those who really need it through these worrying times.

CiCRA get NO government funding  and have been providing Children and Families with vital support for over 40years and is the ONLY child focused IBD Charity. The number of Children being diagnosed with IBD has more than doubled in the last 20 years.

Your donation however small can really make a huge difference

Thank you for your support

Best Wishes

Andrea
