Three Peaks Challenge · 23 August 2019

At Alzheimer’s Society we’re working towards a world where dementia no longer devastates lives. We do this by giving help to those living with dementia today, and providing hope for the future by campaigning to make dementia the priority it should be and funding groundbreaking research.

Story

To raise funds for Insurance United Against Dementia (IUAD), we’ll be completing The Three Peaks Challenge in August.

This is no mean feat! In just 24 hours our team of 15 will be climbing the highest mountains in England, Scotland and Wales – starting with Ben Nevis, at a cool 1344 meters, moving on to Scafell Pike (978 meters) and finishing at Snowden (1085 meters).

About IUAD and Alzheimer’s Society

Not many people know that dementia is the UK’s biggest killer. There are 850,000 people with dementia in the UK, with numbers set to rise to over 1 million by 2025. And there’s currently no cure.

IUAD is a movement championed by the insurance industry to raise funds for the largest dementia charity in the UK, Alzheimer’s Society. It’s a landmark initiative. By supporting this movement, the insurance industry is not only investing in critical dementia research but is also paving the way in transforming people’s awareness and attitudes towards dementia.

Our goal: to raise £10,000.
