Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After vowing to never run another marathon again, 3 years on I have decided to take on the London marathon in aid of ESSA (English Schools’ Swimming Association).
This charity is part of the Princes’ Charities Forum and is run entirely by a team of volunteers. Apart from organising swimming and diving events and championships, ESSA strive to promote the teaching of swimming in schools, the importance of which cannot be underestimated. Having always lived by the sea I fully appreciate the dangers associated with water and the risks that are so often easily overlooked. Learning to swim at an early age not only introduces children to a great sport but also provides them with a skill that
may one day save their life. Everybody should have the opportunity to learn to swim and ESSA are doing all they can to make this a reality.
Despite my grumbles about the relentless training, early mornings and dark nights I feel extremely privileged to have been given the opportunity to take part in such a huge event and would like to raise as much as I possibly can for a charity that relies solely on donations and its amazing volunteers to continue to provide an incredible service to children.
Your support would be very much appreciated!
Thank you
