The first and only time I met Simon was on his wedding day when he married my lovely friend Trish. Although clearly very ill, Simon was able to give an impromptu and emotional speech that was a pure affirmation of love. His certainty was that, in the end, all that matters is the giving and receiving of love and to be aware of all the wonder in the world. Simon sadly passed away a few days later. Myself and a team of people are taking part in the Mendip walking challenge to honour his memory and to raise funds for Weston Hospicecare, who were there for Simon and Trish when they need support the most.
