Story
Our short stay service in Erith desperately needs a sensory room for people with learning disabilities. The service users need this when feeling anxious or upset for a calming and safe environment to go to. Some people have a range of higher needs that require stimulation through sight, sound, and touch and would massively benefit from a sensory room. At Heritage Care, Brook Street, Erith, a lot of our service users come to us via emergency, some due to family being hospitalised. Having never been away from the family home before, or returning to us, Our aim is to provide a place of stimulation and beautiful colour to help reduce their fear and anxiety, and give those with higher needs a safe place to explore the wonder of texture, visual aids and interactive opportunities such as built in floor piano, and a water bed accessible to those who are mobile and those in a wheel chair for floor play time, which requires the room to be padded and so much more! Please can you donate to our fantastic cause to really change the lives of the service users and their families across the Bexley Borough. Thank you so much.
