London Marathon 2022 · 2 October 2022 ·
Together we can keep vital services going for children and adults dealing with the daily challenges of disability, loneliness, loss of independence or dementia.
My dad was diagnosed with dementia in 2019, the year I started running. Dad was a keen cyclist throughout the years even after diagnosis. He had been extemely fit and even compelted the Vickers Worthing marathon in 1984.
Since 2021 dad has been resident at Linfield House, run by Guild Care. The care, support and kindness shown to my dad and my family, though a very challenging time, has given us much to be thankful for. Dad is part of Linfield house; it is his home and although we watch this cruel disease take hold he continues to live with dignity and as a respected induvidual.
Its is now time for me to give something back... it will be a huge, immese and difficult but I am so proud to be doing this for all the amazing work Guild Care provides and to be part of this family in the heart of our community .....and for my Dad.
