Story
Unfortunately due to injury I have been advised to postpone this walk until I have seen an orthopaedic surgeon.
Thank you to everyone who has kindly sponsored me and I am sorry to let everyone down.
I have an issue with my hip which is causing a problem with the muscles in my right leg. At the moment I am unable to walk more than a few hundred yards without pain. It has been a difficult decision to delay something that I have been planning for over a year. The risk of causing more damage and potentially getting into difficulty alone in remote areas has made the decision for me.
I still intend to complete the walk as soon as I am well enough. Apologies once again to everyone who has sponsored me. If you would like a refund I am happy to do this. Please contact me clairembuckley47@gmail.com.
Thanks Again
Claire
On the 17th May I will be setting off on a solo walk from one side of England to the other, from St Bees in the Lake District 192 miles to Robin Hoods Bay. I will be carrying all my camping equipment and everything I need with me, navigating the route myself and mostly sleeping in fields come rain or shine.
I am raising funds for Sheffield Rape and Sexual Abuse centre who provide counselling services to adult and child survivors of sexual abuse. Sadly these specialist services are not provided by the NHS.
All costs for my walk have been paid by myself.
My employer Aviva will match any donations £ for £ up to £250
