Welcome to our London marathon 2020 team page, It is fantastic to have you on board.

Story

Running the London Marathon has been my dream since I was a little girl. April 2020 was the day my dream should have came true. I had put in all the training and my fundraising was well on target until Covid locked down the country. To say thank you to my sponsors I decided to run my own version of the London Marathon, I ran 26.2 miles that day around Leicester.

I was told my place at London was deferred to October 2020. So the summer arrived and training and fundraising began again. We waited and waited on announcement after announcement to be told, the event would now be a virtual Marathon. Determined to complete the event and raise as much money as I can for LOROS. I carried on training and pulled my hamstring. Marathon day arrived and I left out at 5.30 am and gave it everything I had with an injury. The support I received was amazing around the route and I raised 140% of my fundraising target.

LOROS has kindly let me have a charity place for 2021. This has got to be third time lucky. I am so determined to complete the London Marathon 2021 and raise double my pledge for LOROS.

I will be running for an absoutely wonderful charity LOROS.  This charity relies on fundraising and donations and without our help, this amazing place would no longer be able to continue to help people in the last stages of life and there loved ones.  I will be running for family and friends, who know the fantastic work that LOROS provides.

LOROS is a charity whose aim is to enhance the quality of life of adult patients with cancer, progressive neurological conditions and end-stage organ failure for whom curative treatment is no longer possible. Patients are treated at the Hospice and in the community based upon clinical need, regardless of background and the ability to pay.
