2022 was quite a year - major abdominal surgery in March and then just as I was recovering my fitness I was diagnosed with breast cancer in August.  I have been supported through this by a brilliant team at the Royal Surrey Hospital, amazing work colleagues and truly awesome family and friends.  Surgery and radiotherapy all done and long term hormone therapy started.  Through all of this, exercise has been really important focus for me and provided some much needed distraction.  I am happy and grateful that I feel able to take on the London Marathon this April in support of Breast Cancer Now - a fabulous charity for the 1 in 8 women who will be diagnosed with breast cancer.
