Give food waste the chop for a week for FoodCycle

Story

In UK households we waste 7 million tonnes of food every year while 8.4 million people are struggling to feed themselves.

Therefore this summer I take up the challenge of cutting out food waste for one week this August and raising fund for FoodCycle.

This sounds simple but the average household wastes £9.50 worth of food each week. I will be shopping carefully to only buy what I need, eating everything that is edible and freezing anything I don't eat to raise funds to support FoodCycle.

Every day around the country FoodCycle supports people who are hungry and lonely by serving tasty lunches and dinners made from surplus food. They welcome over 1400 guests every week and have served the equivalent of 1 million meals across the UK. Many of their guests struggle to afford the basics to eat and many will eat alone without company or conversation. FoodCycle is helping the planet and bringing communities together over good food.

Please sponsor me and help me support this wonderful cause.
