Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I have always wanted to run the London Marathon and when better than 2012 Olympic Year!! and who better to do it for than Help the Hospices.

Why run for Help the Hospices? Well a few years ago I met a fantastic lady who became a very good friend to me at a time when I needed her most.  In her early thirties she was diagnosed with having Cancer.  She lived for over 7 years after the diagnosis of cancer but did not make it to her 40th birthday.  I moved away and because of families and life changes did not see much of her.  I saw her last in 2009 and the last time we were in contact was when she was spending time in a hospice fighting at the end of her life.  We had spoken about the hospice and what comfort, care and support it had provided for her and her family at the end of her life.  I found out she had died on Facebook of all places, as she was always my friend and we did not really share any other friends who would tell me?  I have also had family who have been supported by hospices.  A truly worthwhile charity please get behind me and Help the Hospices folks :)
