I am addicted to listening to Desert Island discs and heard David Nott on it back in 2016.  I'd never heard of David before, and I was deeply moved by his story - I cried the first time, and the subsequent 3 more times that I've listened. David is a deeply humble person, doing incredible humanitarian work all over the world in war torn countries, risking his life to save others. The David Nott Foundation was established with a simple mission: to provide surgeons & medical professionals working in the most hostile environments with the skills & the confidence to save more lives. At the frontlines of these crises are the doctors & medical professionals who work tirelessly, often against the odds, to help help victims & preserve life. Yet in countries where resources are scarce, and access to equipment and training is limited, these doctors are left to face the most challenging of circumstances, ill-equipped & unsupported.
