I’ve been working for East of England Ambulance service for some years. In that time, I have worked along side other technicians like myself and paramedics routinely.

Having the skills and the experience that my crew mates have has meant I’ve learnt so much but it’s not just about those extra skills or longevity in the service. It’s seeing the compassion, thought and kindness that these individuals show every single shift that inspires me.

These aren’t skills taught in a class room these are acts of kindness that being within the service affords me every shift.

However, there are some patients we go to that require the
advanced skills that only a Critical Care Paramedic or a Doctor have but we need them still in a pre-hospital setting. This is where Essex and Hertfordshire Air Ambulance  -EHAAT come in.

Without the vital service this charity provides we wouldn’t
be able to bring the knowledge, equipment and expertise to life saving situations or reduce life changing injuries that can happen to anyone at any time.

I have been on a few shifts where EHAAT were required, one recently that required a very high level of life saving ability and I was I awe of the crew that attended to this patient. Again, not just the level of advanced
medical ability but the dedication to this patient, the respect and mindfulness to the other staff there also attending to this patient and to the loved one’s present.

I want to challenge myself but only if a worthy cause
benefit from it. I want to contribute to this service remaining available to the general public and in case anyone I love and care for may need them.

I am so grateful of you taking the time to read this and if
you could spare some cash then please do sponsor me.

Kind regards

Claire
