Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page.
How has lock down affected you? Did you feel isolated? Frustrated?
Maybe a little bit scared? Did you struggle to get an on line shopping
slot, keep yourself occupied or miss seeing your loved ones?
I know that the affects of the ups and downs of the "Coronacoaster"
have affected many in some way or another. I found that keeping active as much as possible helped me ride the waves of these times. I've been getting out and about running everyday and I'm grateful that I can do that.
Imagine what its been like for someone living with cancer... Someone who’s immune system is so depleted to the point that COVID-19 has to be avoided at all costs, they and their family dare not set foot outside their own front door.
My absolutely fabulous sister-in-law Rosie, is living with stage 4 breast cancer and is in this position. She has received help during this time from an amazing charity called Bosom Family support. This wonderful network of volunteers have delivered Rosie and my brother (and many other families who are undergoing cancer treatment throughout North
Lincolnshire) a weekly two course meal throughout the lock down period.
Lock down may be easing with day to day activities returning to normal for some of us, but for those who have been shielding for so long, it can be an anxious and worrying time. BFS offer a wide range of help and support, including counselling, beauty appointments, craft activities and online quizzes and discos during the lock down period ! I'm sure they are keen to restart all their services but until then, they are determined to keep providing families with weekly meals until the autumn.
So…. here I am, blatantly asking for your money!
Please sponsor me to complete the Lands end to John O'Groats
(LEJOG) virtual run in aid of this cause. Its 874 miles in total, and you'll
get to follow me on my way. I have a year to complete it, but I'm sure with your encouragement, i'll crack on and finish it sooner.
***EDIT**** Im now running back the other way (JOGLE)
