Claire's Zero to Hero - Run for Mum

Claire's Zero to Hero - Run for Mum · 1 September 2020
In December 2019 my wonderful Mum had the shocking news that she had AML, an acute form of Leukaemia. The cancer was already doing it's worst, so we had to start treatment ASAP.
In January and March mum had 2 rounds of intensive chemo. This was followed up by a Stem Cell Transplant in June.
What with Covid too, 2020 has been mind blowing, and not in a good way. Mum however is continuing to go from strength to strength. The transplant has SAVED HER LIFE.
Therefore I have decided to get my bum off the sofa, and finish the year on a high in CELEBRATION and THANKS, to Anthony Nolan and all the fantastic NHS staff that have made Mum's recovery possible.
Thanks for reading this, I hope you can support this fantastic cause.
I'm challenging myself to run the #TeamAN Zero to Hero Challenge, to raise money and be a lifesaving hero for people with blood cancer.Stem cell transplants haven't stopped because of the coronavirus pandemic, but its taken a heroic mission to keep them going. Anthony Nolan is continuing to take incredible action to keep donated stem cells moving, and ensure cells get to patients who desperately need them for a second chance of life. But they need to raise vital extra funds every month that the coronavirus pandemic continues goes on to enable this work.Every £100 I raise could help pay to keep Anthony Nolan's Emergency Handover Hub at Heathrow Airport open 24 hours a day. This hub enables international couriers, who can't go into hospitals due to quarantine rules, to handover donated stem cells to one of the UK volunteers for the final lifesaving leg. Please sponsor my Zero to Hero challenge today to keep this vital work going.
