Pancreatic Cancer Research Fund is the only national charity dedicated solely to beating pancreatic cancer through research. Survival rates are low, so new research is vital. In the past, this cancer received little attention. With your help, we can change this so more people beat pancreatic cancer.

Story

I'm running to help find ways to diagnose and fight pancreatic cancer, in memory of my lovely dad, Alan Livesey.  It's an insidious cancer that's almost always diagnosed too late for anything but palliative care - it took dad away from us in just 6 weeks.

This is my first marathon and I'll be FIFTY ONE! when I run. Luckily it's the flattest marathon in the UK, which gives me some hope.  It was planned to end at Old Trafford, United's ground and as Dad's ashes are scattered there, it seemed a perfect marathon to do.  But now it's finishing at Old Trafford Cricket ground - luckily dad had a season ticket there too, so at the finish line we'll be able to celebrate at one of his favourite places.

Thank you for donating, it really will make a difference.
