The Pepper Foundation funds Hospice at Home care for children in Bucks and Herts. We believe that during this terribly frightening and difficult time, children and their families should be given the choice to be cared for at home, surrounded by the people and belongings they love.

Story

After moving to Bristol in January 2014, I decided to join a netball team in order to meet some people and generally just keep myself active. After my first few sessions I came to realise how woefully unfit I was and decided, to the amusement of my family, to start running. This time last year, running to me was a hateful activity but, as many people told me I would, I seem to have caught the running bug, and so have decided to run the Bath Half Marathon.
To help keep me training over the cold, dark and usually gluttonous winter months, I decided to raise money for a charity that my family and I have supported for many years now - The Pepper Foundation.
The Pepper Foundation offers specialist palliative care and support to children with a life-threatening or life-limiting illness. Pepper provide nurses to work with families to provide care and support for each child in their own home on a 24 hour, 365 days of the year, through an on-call basis. The paediatric service receives less than 20% in statutory funding. Therefore, Pepper relies heavily on the generosity of the public to help raise the remaining 80%+, which is why I'm asking for your help.
Just £15 would buy approximately half an hour of nursing care. My £1000 target will provide almost six days of desperately needed care to a terminally ill child and a small amount of respite for very worried families.
So anything you could donate to this incredible charity would not only motivate me to do less feasting over Christmas and more training, but will more importantly help provide vital support and comfort for not only a very ill child, but their family as well.
