Poppys big hair chop!

Claire Setrem is raising money for Little Princess Trust

Poppy’s big hair chop! · 10 July 2021

The Little Princess Trust provides real hair wigs, free of charge, to children and young people who have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or to other conditions. The charity is also one of the largest funders of childhood cancer research in the UK.

Story

Poppy decided she wanted to do a charitable thing when we were in the 1st lockdown last year. We looked at different things Poppy could do & she decided she wanted to donate her hair to Little Princess Trust. This is a charity that provides children with a free real hair wig when they lose their hair to cancer, or another condition. At the time, the charity weren't taking any donations. But now they are open again, it’s time for Poppy to have the big chop!

On the 10th July, Poppy will be having her hair cut to be sent to the charity to be made into a wig. This is such a selfless thing for a 7 year old to do. Poppy keeps saying “my hair will just grow back, then I can do it again for another wig”!

It costs the charity £550 to make a single wig. Poppy would love to be able to send her hair & also raise enough money for a wig to be made with her hair donation. It also costs the charity £150 to fit a wig on each child so it would be even better if Poppy can raise £700!

Please support Poppy & donate for her wonderful event!
