Between 6-14 September 2011 I will be attempting to climb Kilimanjaro, Africa's highest mountain (5,895m), to raise money for deafPLUS.  Please sponsor me.

All money raised will go directly to deafPLUS as I am funding the trip myself.

Since November 2010 I have been working with deafPLUS and have seen first hand the vitally important work it does.

Research shows that there are now 10 million people in the UK with hearing loss – that's one in six of the population.

deafPLUS is a medium-sized charity working to encourage integration and equality between deaf and hearing people in all areas of life.  It provides the following services:

-   Information, Advocacy and Guidance

-   Personal support and development

-   Training in deaf and hard of hearing issues

-   Lipreading and hearing loss rehabilitation

-   Equipment assessment and fitting

-   BME and DeafBlind support

-   Sport, leisure and social activities

-   IT training and internet access

-   Employment support

-   Sign language interpreting / communication support
