Dear all, 

As you all know David passed away very unexpectedly last November from a stroke. He was an amazing person and touched so many peoples lives with his kindness and humour and the time that he had for everyone. He is so greatly missed by all his family and friends. He was a fabulously supportive, loving dad to Phoebe and Ollie and husband to me. The last few months have been very difficult with everyday presenting a new challenge. 

A team of 60 of my fantastic friends and family participated in the Resolution Run at Hagley Hall in April and raised an amazing £8000 in David’s memory - wow, thank you so much. I am in awe of how supportive everyone has been throughout this time 💜

The 6th October will be our 20th Wedding Anniversary ( although we would have been together 31 years since I was 16!). I wanted to mark the day by doing something special in David’s memory and was ideally looking for a 10k Run. However the challenge of a half marathon lured me and even better that it was in the city where my daughter was applying to Uni. Phoebe starts at Cardiff Uni on 23/9/19 and I could not be prouder of her outstanding achievements in her A levels during such a difficult year. 

I hope that I will make David proud by running the Cardiff Half Marathon in his memory and honour.

Please support me if you can, all donations will go to the Stroke Association. Unfortunately David did not survive his stroke but many who do need intensive rehabilitation and support for themselves and their family / carers. The Stroke Association does a fantastic job providing this.

We have distributed over 1.7 million stroke information leaflets and factsheets to help people find out more about stroke.
