Jurassic Coast Mighty Hike 2022 - half marathon · 11 September 2022 ·

Theres around 3 million people living with cancer in the UK today, and over 360,000 more are diagnosed every year. Right now, millions of people with cancer are counting on us for physical, financial and emotional support. Let's do something Mighty.

Story

Thank you for considering supporting our Mighty Hike! My mum and I are not your average hikers! But we wanted to challenge ourselves to be 10% braver and do something to contribute to Macmillan’s cause. Unfortunately like most families, our family is one that has been affected by cancer with many of our loved ones succumbing to this terrible disease. Most notably, my mum’s mum and my dear Grandma, Janet: a fierce lady full of love for her family and never afraid of sharing her opinions! And also my dear Father in Law and the Grandad my boys never got to meet, Andy Tunnicliffe. He lost his fight to cancer in 2016, just a few months before Ben was born. We miss them both - and many others - every day and hope that the money raised will benefit Macmillan and their support for those suffering with cancer and their loved ones.

Thanks for supporting my fundraising. Macmillan gives people with cancer everything they’ve got. If you’re diagnosed, your worries are Macmillan’s worries. Macmillan’s doing whatever it takes. But without your help, Macmillan can’t support everyone who needs them.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and secure. Your details are safe, JustGiving - they'll never sell them or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
