SimplyHealth Great North Run 2018 · 9 September 2018 ·

The world's biggest half marathon is back and over 200 amazing Team Bowel Cancer UK runners have come together with one aim - a future where nobody dies of bowel cancer.

Story

Anybody who has known me for any length of time, will tell you I’m not a natural runner, however with the big 40 looming, and maybe as some kind of midlife crisis,  I felt the need to get fit and try something I thought I’d never be able to to!!

My Mother has lived with Crohns all her adult life and my Grandad passed away from Bowel Ca, so my Family are no stranger to Bowel conditions, but most poignantly, I’m running next month in memory of my lovely Cousin, Andy, who tragically passed away aged just 41 as a result of this terrible disease. I think about him all the time.

If I can even raise a small amount of money towards this charity, in the hope that it will help someone like Andrew then it will all be worth it. Please donate what you can. Even a quid will be appreciated.
