Story
I’m raising money for Brain Tumour Research throughout November by walking/jogging/skipping 99 miles. Rather than spending a month worrying about my upcoming surgery, I thought I’d spend the time doing something positively focused.
I’ll be out every day, so if you want to join me on a walk or jog then let me know. I’d love to see you. If you’re able to donate then I’d be so grateful.
1 in 3 people in the UK know someone affected by a brain tumour. This charity helps support loved ones too, not just research. I know how much my family have been affected by this, and I’m one of the lucky ones so far.
74% of funding for brain tumour research in the UK comes from charities.
New analysis from Brain Tumour Research reveals that £26.2 million was invested in brain tumour research in 2023/24, but just 26% (£6.8 million) came from government funding.
While government investment has increased from £1.8 million in 2018/19, overall funding remains far below what is needed to develop new treatments and bring them into clinical trials.
Nearly 100,000 people in the UK are living with a brain tumour or the long-term impact of their illness.
They all deserve hope for the future. 💛
