Story
Hi, I am Claire and I teach sports science to 16-19 year olds in London. I cannot believe I am running the London Marathon. Since I was a child I have always been actively involved in sport and exercise, with particular interests in figure skating, gymnastics and the gym. I have been running for three years and decided it was finally time to tackle the big one... This will be the ultimate challenge for me.
I am running for Coram’s Fields, an independent charity near Russell Square, Central London. This remarkable charity is unique in providing free facilities and positive activities for children and young people to enjoy in their spare time. Coram’s Fields is very close to my heart as the organisation helps support the transition of young people from adolescence to adulthood. I learnt about the charity and the many great things on offer, through the students that I teach which use the facilities on a regular basis. This is one of the oldest children’s charities in the UK and to carry on such amazing work is dependent on tireless fundraising from various sources. I am very humbled to be given the opportunity to run for such a worthy cause and hope that you will help me to raise lots of money in support of this wonderful charity.
