Story

Thank you so much for visiting my fundraising page.

The lady in the picture is Maureen Keating . . . my Mum... and one of my boys!

When she was only 59 she began to forget things, at 61 she was diagnosed with  Early Onset Alzheimers  Disease and by 69  she couldn't remember her husband of fifty years, her 5 daughters or any of 13 grandchildren. She died earlier this year.

I started to run in 2006 when my Mum went into care. I ran instead of crying..... I'm still running and this year I am doing the Great North Run in memory of my Mum and all she gave me.Eventually so much positve stuff came out of me dealing with her illness , but of course she will never know.

Please sponsor me and  help me to
raise money for the Alzheimer's Society  in the hope that our future is not the one that became my Mum's.

Donating through Justgiving is quick, easy and totally secure. It’s also the most efficient way to sponsor me: Alzheimer's Society gets your money faster and, if you’re a UK taxpayer, Justgiving makes sure 25% in Gift Aid, plus a 3% supplement, are added to your donation.
