Walk the Talk – Cambodia · 5 October 2019 to 20 October 2019 ·
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
Lloyds Bank has once again teamed up with Mental Health UK for a new Walk the Talk challenge which will see 70 Lloyds Bank colleagues from across the group venturing to Cambodia to trek 82km in 5 days from Siem Reap to Angkor Wat. Two groups of 35 colleagues will trek through the jungle, rice-paddies, over hills and across valleys, camping out along the way. We will be walking an average of 20km per day and have the opportunity to meet some of the local people and really gain an insight into a culture very different to our own!
I'm in Group One setting off on 5th October and I'm taking part in this year's Walk the Talk challenge because it really is a great way to encourage people to talk more openly about mental health issues while raising money for an incredibly worthy and prevalent cause and this year the focus is heavily on increasing support for young people.
On a personal level the challenge ahead is incredibly exciting and the experience itself is a once in a lifetime opportunity. All 70 walkers have their own personal reasons for wanting to take part and I am no exception. After a very difficult year in 2018 following a significant personal loss I am ready to throw myself into something worthwhile which will test me both emotionally and physically and I'm so very grateful to have been selected to take part.
My overall fundraising target for the event is £4,000 and this JustGiving page forms part of that so any money you can donate will be incredibly well received.
