MDS UK Patient Support Group is a charity born in 2008 to raise awareness of MDS (a rare BLOOD CANCER), offer support and information to patients and families, campaign to improve the quality of life and make treatments available to those affected by Myelodysplastic Syndromes.

Story

Yes, it’s finally happening, I am fortunate enough to be participating in the TCS, London Marathon 2023!!!

Having entered the ballot no less than 15 times, in a bizarre twist of fate I won a place at an event with Hugh Brasher, Event Director for London Marathon Events, hosted by Caitlin Limmer and BeaRCat Running Club. (Thank you to my sister Carla for taking me to the event for my birthday last year xxx)

Caitlin is a true inspiration, having been diagnosed with rare blood disorders 18 years ago and being told she had less than an hour to live, she defied all odds and is fighting fit every single day! Aside of founding BeaRCat Running Club,  running numerous marathons and raising lots of money for various charities herself, Caitlin is also the patron a wonderful charity that has supported her and supports many others affected by MDS. (Myelodysplastic Syndromes: a group of malignant blood disorders.)

So, as Caitlin is the reason I am lucky to be fulfilling a dream this April, it seems fitting to raise awareness about MDS and hopefully some money to help them continue to support Caitlin and others.

Please give what you can.

Thank You xxxx
