Story
Thank you for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
After watching my friends run last year, I was enthused and decided to take part in the Great North Run this year. Anyone who knows me, knows that I'm definitely not a natural runner. I've been doing my best to train for the grueling 13 miles and it hasn't been easy. I was doing great until a recent set back: runners knee (it's a thing apparently) so I'm now personally calling it the Great North Hobble. I will get around (eventually), spurred on by the support of the great people of the North East.
I know money is tight for a lot of people especially in the current climate but I would be very grateful for anything you can spare which will me that extra boost to get around the course and will help a great cause.
I am running to raise money for Northumberland Wildlife Trust who are a charity that I have had the pleasure of volunteering for. They do a great job at protecting and restoring our wildlife and wild places for people and future generations. If you've been for a walk, run or ride at the likes of Kielder, Weetslade or Northumberlandia then you've definitely visited one of the many nature reserves that they look after.
They work across Northumberland, Newcastle and North Tyneside managing more than sixty nature reserves and help to create wildlife-rich landscapes and seas by working in partnership with other organisations, landowners and communities.
They also provide a range of educational events and activities for adults, families and schools at their visitor centres and nature reserves.
Right now, we are losing wildlife and wild places at an alarming rate. Without donations from people who care about protecting wildlife and preserving wild spaces they wouldn't be able to continue their important work. Find out more about what they do on their website - https://www.nwt.org.uk/
