Community Hospice provides free end of life care to anyone living with a terminal illness in Greenwich and Bexley, supporting around 3,000 people each year. Our goal is to help everyone we care for to approach death in the way that suits their values, beliefs and lifestyle.

Story

As many of you now know, Bill passed away on the 31st August 2012 and after nearly 20 years of knowing him as my step dad this came at a great shock and loss to me.

We are all doing what we can to come to terms with the massive hole that has been left since Bill passed on, and in many ways this still feels like a terrible dream you hope to wake up from as life as we knew it has changed irrevocably.

When I was one of the lucky entrants to be balloted into the London Marathon, I immediately chose to run on behalf of Greenwich & Bexley Community Hospice as without the support and help from the whole team, Bill would not have been able to stay at home with his  family, which included his wonderful puppy - Tula. During the last 3 weeks when things took a turn for the worst, especially during the last 10 days the nurses and carers came into their own and we are eternally grateful to them all. So this is one way that I am able to say a more personal thank you to the team.

If you are able to, please also use the option for gift aid as this allows your donation and the tax on this to be submitted to the Hospice.
