Macmillan Caring Locally works in partnership with the NHS to fund the Macmillan Unit, a Hospice and specialist palliative care unit at Christchurch Hospital in Dorset. Please note that we are not connected in any way to the national charity Macmillan Cancer Support.

Story

We lost our beautiful Claire to pancreatic cancer. She was aged 44 when she passed away on the 12th August 2017.

Claire was cared for and made as comfortable as possible by the most amazing staff at the Macmillan unit, Christchurch.

Claire was passionate and pro-active about helping Macmillan by participating in sponsored runs. One of Claire's wishes was to continue to help Macmillan, please help us realise Claire's wish.

The life of Claire Wallace was one of fun, laughter and high achievement so sadly cut short. Claire was a secondary school maths teacher for 20 years, she had a natural ability to inspire and engage pupils of all abilities. She has enriched the lives of many young people.

Thank you for your support.

Dave Wallace (Claire's husband)
