As some of you may know, we are spending the last week of our honeymoon in Uganda visiting and helping at an educational charity, Soft Power Education.
Soft Power Education is based in Jinja, on Lake Victoria. It is a British-registered charity and Ugandan NGO working with rural communities in Uganda to improve primary education provision and, more recently, adult education opportunities. The majority of the rural population across Uganda is deemed by the UN to be living in chronic poverty. Soft Power Education’s aim is to reduce the level of dependency in the communities in which it works by equipping individuals with the skills and resources they need to break the cycle of poverty for themselves. There is further information on the charity’s website: Soft Power Education.
We think this is a very worthwhile cause and would be delighted if you would make a donation to the charity instead of giving us a wedding present. Clare and Chris xx
