Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. We will be spending 5 days in September 2011 trekking across Poland raising funds for Beacon Centre for the Blind.

The challenge includes us having to trek up 3 summits in 2 days- all 3 are higher than Snowdon! I guess after that the other 3 days will be a cynch - if we survive.  Alan will, not sure about Clare!

Talking of Snowdon, we are going there to 'practice' at Easter - will let you know how we do. So how did we do?  Well Alan skipped up and I staggered - lots of work to do fitness wise before September.

Alan completed the Torq cycle ride: 45km up and down the Black Mountains in the pouring rain.  Over 200 riders didn't finish, but he his determination won.  And another £200 raised.

I have done 2 sponosored zumbathons (the latest craze) and we have other things planned

Why are we doing this - because we want to raise funds for Beacon.

I can't think of anything more terrifying than losing my sight.  I can't imagine not being able to do the things I take for-granted - cooking a meal, getting dressed, catching a bus.  Even worse I wouldn't be able to see things which bring me those moments of pure happiness - seeing my children laugh, watching a sunset.

Well, we leave tomorrow night.  I am terrified that i won't be able to do it - but I am determined - it will be mind over body for the most part.

We will be doing more fundraising when we come back.

Thanks to those who have supported us and to everyone else who reads this, please keep on giving.
