Story
Have you ever considered walking ~26 miles along the Grand Union Canal, from Watford into Central London?, swimming 1 mile in the Serpentine in Hyde Park, THEN climbing over the O2 in Greenwich?! No? Well our Children's Services England South Leadership Team have and that is exactly what they are planning to do on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th July, all in aid of Action for Children - one of the UK’s leading children charities.
How Action for Children works: from before they are born until they are into their twenties, we help disadvantaged children across the UK. We help them through fostering or adoption – and by intervening early to stop neglect and abuse. We make life better for disabled children. We influence policy and advocate for change. Over 7,000 staff and volunteers operate over 522 services, improving the lives of 301,000 children, teenagers, parents and carers every year. We succeed by doing what’s right, doing what’s needed and doing what works for children.
They are embarking on this challenge to show that leaders should be leading by example and that means getting stuck in with something crazy, daunting and difficult like this Extreme Challenge will be. So please, give what you can and support our leaders, doing what they do best – LEADING!
