Story
Walking in memory of "Sunshine" Joe Dunn, who lost a rapid and aggressive battle with pancreatic cancer in July 2025. Joe was a beloved husband, father, and teacher at St Francis Primary, larger than life in every way. He brought laughter, music, and joy to everyone he met. If you were lucky enough to meet Joe, you'll know he was a force to be reckoned with.
He always had a story to tell, was keen to help anyone he could, and his presence is something that is deeply missed.
Working alongside Joe, you couldn't help but smile. His tales, his sing-along sessions, and his passion for teaching especially Spanish, RE, and music were mesmerising to watch.
Walking the Kiltwalk was never even a question
— it felt like a calling. A calling to do something good in honour of Joe Dunn. Joe constantly pushed himself toward adventure, especially through his love of wild swimming. While an icy dip is not possible, taking on a 14-mile walk feels like a good place to start.
Raising money for the hospice and would be incredibly grateful for any donations, along with words of encouragement and motivation.
