Learning the clarinet in 2018 to raise money for the MNDA · 18 January 2018

Motor Neurone Disease moves fast. It takes away time, it takes away independence and it has no cure. Every day we support people affected by MND. We fund ground-breaking research. We campaign for better care. We’re here for everyone who needs us. Because with MND, every day matters.

Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

A friend’s mother was diagnosed with Motor Neurone Disease last year and I decided to do something to raise money for the cause. I teach the piano on Saturdays, so I thought I’d play to my strengths and learn a new instrument. I’m going to teach myself for the next year and then take a grade exam in the spring of 2019. Please recognise my considerable efforts by donating either a fixed sum, or a variable amount depending on what grade I reach, to this very worthwhile cause.

I am funding all the costs of learning - including clarinet rental, reeds, tutor books and exam fees - myself, so that the maximum amount possible can go to charity.

I will be blogging about my experience here - https://clarinet2018.wordpress.com/ - and hopefully uploading some recordings so you can hear my progress.

Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
