Weald Will Walk 500 Miles · 11 May 2020

Little Havens provides specialist care and support for babies, children and young people living with complex or incurable conditions from Essex. Our care includes everyone to make sure the right support is there, where and when they need it. This care is provided absolutely free of charge

Story

As a part of Weald House Week we have decided to continue supporting Little Haven’s Children’s Hospice during these unprecedented times.

When a child has been diagnosed with a complex or incurable condition, Little Havens can provide the care they need, ‘Making every day count’. Their specialist Care Team can support them and their family throughout illness, death and bereavement, in the comfort of their own home or at their hospice. They focus on their quality of life, caring for individual physical, emotional, psychological and spiritual needs, ‘Making every day count.’ The charity must raise over £40,000 each week to be there for every baby, child and teenager who needs us.

So, join us to walk 500 miles as a community over the week beginning the 11th May to raise much needed funds for the work of this incredible charity.

With social distancing and restrictions on movements, we need your help to walk the 500 miles. We are aiming to recruit 100 volunteers who will commit to walking 5 miles each across the course of Weald Week. This will achieve our first 500 miles. By posting our walks with photographs and comments over google classroom (code sent via email to all students) we hope to generate lots of sponsorships and donations to raise money for LHCH!

What you need to do:

Sign up to the google classroom that’s been emailed to students or if you are not a student at Brentwood School then please email clarisecastleman@gmail.com to get involved. I would suggest a donation of £5 as an entry- you can do this with your family’s which would be great for exercise and would get us halfway to our total.
