Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a life-shortening genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK-wide charity fighting for a life unlimited, when everyone living with CF can look forward to a long, healthy life. www.cysticfibrosis.org.uk

Story

Our charity of the year for 2020 is the Cystic Fibrosis Trust.  Plans are already underway for our various fundraising activities - starting with the Surrey Half Marathon on 8 March 2020.

The Cystic Fibrosis Trust is the only UK charity dedicated to fighting for a life unlimited by CF, for anyone affected by the condition. Their mission is to create a world where being born with CF no longer means a lifelong burden of care and an early death, and people living with the condition can look forward to a long and healthy life.

Each charity we support is nominated and voted for by the clarity team. This year’s charity was nominated by Leila Davey, one of our administration team, who has a close personal friend with CF. Here’s what Leila had to say about her nomination:

“I put the Cystic Fibrosis Trust forward as our charity of the year as a very close friend of mine lives with CF and I’ve seen first-hand the day-to-day battle she has just to try and live a ‘normal’ life. Her courage and determination fighting this debilitating condition is an inspiration to me every day. The support she has received from the Cystic Fibrosis Trust has been genuinely life changing. The money we raise this year will help others benefit from the same support - whether that’s help with day-to-day necessities, creating happy memories, funding life-extending medication or help with transplant costs.”

Thank you for your support.
