Story
The Classroom Box Project
Classroombox Project. The Classroom Box project was started by the Rotary Club of Northampton Becket in 2006 with the object of providing boxes of basic educational material to schools in developing countries where there is a limited or non-existence of items that we in this country take for granted.
What is a Classroom Box?
Classroom Boxes
What does a Box contain?
" 25 Ballpoint Pens
" 5 Glue Sticks
" 25 Pencils
" 10 Coloured Pencil Sets
" 25 Writing Pads
" 5 Geometry Sets
" 25 Rulers
" 2 Staplers and Staples
" 1 Box of Chalk
" 1 Tin Blackboard Paint
" 1 Paintbrush
" Pencil Sharpeners
" Bluetak
" Inflatable Globe/Balls
Contents of the boxes are very relevant to the needs. There is a desperate shortage of pens and pencils and equipment. There are usually 40-50 learners per class. The project has highlighted the desperate need that exists at schools in the rural areas. Box distribution is a challenge in rural areas, due to poor access. This is where our link with the Rotary Clubs becomes vital.
