WASH To Save Lives

A Salute To Tanzania · 11 October 2019
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I have been selected as a Project Lead for an international development programme known as ICS (International Citizen Service) and will be working in collaboration with Raleigh International. In January, I will be going to Tanzania for 15 weeks to lead and take part in a WASH (water sanitation and hygiene) and livelihoods project. My participation in such an amazing and exciting expedition would not have been made possible without the opportunity provided by Raleigh International and The Jack Petchey Foundation, who through their common vision of inspiring young people to make impact in communities and to drive sustainable development, have made this journey possible.
On this programme, one of my main aims is to raise a minimum of £800 to help fund the project and contribute to the improvement of the locals' lives and community in Tanzania. For this reason, I will be raising funds through donations (I will also be collecting pennies to take to the bank for cash) and selling Christmas gifts and hampers. So, please do let me know if you would like to buy a gift or a hamper or donate your jar of pennies!
I have been part of many projects in my lifetime and in my career, but I have never led an exciting and challenging project in a developing country, as I never had the confidence to do so. However, Raleigh International has inspired me to get out of my comfort zone to achieve a goal which will benefit communities in Tanzania for the better. Indeed, I feel this is the best of motivations and will be the most fulfilling feeling ever!
It will also be a great learning curve and a life changing experience for myself and for the community I would be working in, so I would greatly appreciate it if you could help to sponsor this programme. All donations will be transferred directly to the sustainable development charity Raleigh International, and will help fund the WASH (water, sanitation and hygiene) and livelihood project in Tanzania. This project includes building water systems to create access to safe drinking water and delivering sessions to the communities on sanitation and hygiene.
Every little donation will help to make a difference, so please follow the JustGiving link below and donate and share if interested in making a positive change. Even though the target is set on £800, the more we manage to raise the bigger the impact, so please donate and let’s make it happen!
