Welsh 3 peaks · 30 June 2018

Queen Elizabeth’s Foundation for Disabled People (QEF) is a disability charity based in Surrey, with national reach. We have more than 85 years’ experience of developing innovative services which support almost 10,000 disabled people a year to achieve their potential and increase their independence.

Story

Our Dad ( Phillip Bosworth) had a sub arachnoid bleed (bleed on the brain) on the 2nd September 2017. It was the most horrendous time for all (very dark days) as no one knew if he would survive. Against the odds he did but spent the next 6 weeks in Brighton intensive care unit, from there transferred to neuro rehab in Haywards Heath where he spent a further 12 weeks. As our Dad needs longer term neuro rehab our Dad is now at Queen Elizabeth Foundation for neuro disability in Banstead Surrey. This is a charity funded centre who do the most outstanding work for people who’s lives are never going to be the same again due to brain injury. Dad still has a long way to go but we are hoping he will have a quality of life that we all take for granted and which Queen Elizabeth Foundation are working so hard to try and achieve. We are aiming to raise funds  to buy much needed equipment and to brighten up the gardens and hopefully be able to include a sensory area outside.  So 5 of us, myself, my sister Francesca, Lizzy, Matt, Carol, Ivan and Joe are walking the Welsh 3 peaks on 30th June. All 17 patients and staff would be so greatful for any dontations received as would we. All dontations up to £1500 will be matched by Santander. Thank you so much.
