Cold feet, runny nose and pure exhaustion 5895m up high – doesn’t sound convincing? I thought that myself when I heard about the Kilimanjaro Challenge organized by Accenture und VSO. But after reading more about that challenge and the good that comes with it, I signed up for a charity walk up the Kilimanjaro Challenge from August 26th - September 5th 2012 in order to raise money for people in need.

I need your support!

I can’t master that challenge alone, I need your support please. This trip is organized by Accenture and VSO which are specialized in sending professionals to developing countries. I will be joined by other Accenture colleagues from all over the world. This challenge consists of 2 parts:

1)    I have to raise £2800 until June 5th for VSO

2)    I have to somehow get to the top of that mountain

Unfortunately you can only support me with the first part - the collection of donations. I would be very grateful if you decide donate some money.  Every amount counts!

WHY should you support me?

Your donations will go directly to VSO who will fund voluntary supporters that sign up to go on projects to fight against Aids, famine and the lack of education. In fact, 50% of the donation I collect will go to local projects in Kenya/Tansania while the other 50% are used for VSO´s Livelihood program.

The donations will not be used to cover my expenses; these will be paid for by myself. I will also visit one of these projects in Kenya to see how the money I raised is used.

Wie weit gehst du für eine Welt ohne Armut? 5895m nach oben - das wird von nun an meine Antwort sein. Denn am 26. August 2012 starte ich zur Herausforderung meines Lebens, zur Spitze des Kilimanjaro, um einen Beitrag für eine bessere Welt zu leisten.

Wieso solltet ihr mich unterstützen?

Eure Spende geht direkt an die VSO, die mit Hilfe des Geldes Freiwillige Helfer in weltweite Projekte entsendet, um Hilfe zu Selbsthilfe zu leisten und dem Hunger, der Verbreitung von Aids und dem Mangel an Bildung entgegenzuwirken. Eure Spende wird nicht dazu verwendet meine Ausgaben Flug, Treck etc.) zu decken - diese bezahle ich selber.

Ich werde eines der Projekte in Kenia besuchen, welches ihr durch eure Spende unterstützt und euch an meinen Eindrücken teilhaben lassen.
