I volunteered at Refugee Resource for  3 years.Throughout this time I have valued the ongoing enthusiasm, passion and dedication of the staff, who are supporting some of the most vulnerable people living amongst us, including asylum seekers, refugees, and vulnerable migrants (victims of trafficking, hate crime, or modern slavery). They work with those who have experienced trauma and/ or loss before, during and after migration, providing a range of therapeutic, mentoring and support services to help their clients recover from their experiences and build new lives in Oxfordshire.

Refugee Resource is unique in being the only dedicated refugee therapy service in Oxfordshire, offering long-term tailored support to promote people's mental health and well-being. This has been more crucial than ever during the Coronavirus pandemic, with people being forced to flee everything they knew to seek safety, and having to face lockdown far away from loved ones. They are also frightened about the impact of the disease itself, especially given that BAME communities account for over a third of COVID-19 deaths across the UK. Refugee Resource has adapted all its services to continue during the pandemic, provide daily welfare calls to their most vulnerable clients to ensure people continue getting the support they need.
