Six-Peaks-Challenge – Fundraiser for Research on MTM1 · 17 June 2022

Myotubular (centronuclear) myopathy is a rare genetic muscle condition affecting mostly boys from birth. It causes profound muscle weakness, dangerously affecting the muscles that control breathing & swallowing. We fund research but also raise awareness & we support affected families and patients.

Story

A group of intrepid work colleagues (Ruby Bridger, Rebecca Cotton, John Gasgarth, Michelle Gasgarth, Matthew Lodge, Jonas Malmqvist, Paul Martin, Stuart Webster) have committed to walking the strenuous Lake District Walk “Buttermere Horseshoe" on the 17th of June. This hike will see the team take on 6 peaks, 22.8km and 1.758m ascent, all to raise awareness and funds for research of an ultrarare muscular disease.

All donations will be directed to the Myotubular Trust (UK registered charity no. 1137177) and will be invested to 100% into scientific research of MTM1.
