A group of intrepid work colleagues (Ruby Bridger, Rebecca Cotton, John Gasgarth, Michelle Gasgarth, Matthew Lodge, Jonas Malmqvist, Paul Martin, Stuart Webster) have committed to walking the strenuous Lake District Walk “Buttermere Horseshoe" on the 17^th of June. This hike will see the team take on 6 peaks, 22.8km and 1.758m ascent, all to raise awareness and funds for research of an ultrarare muscular disease.

The hikers are taking on this demanding physical and mental challenge to support Claudia & Daniel, whose son, Eric, was born with a severe muscular condition called X-linked Myotubular Myopathy (or MTM1 for short). 

Eric is a bright two-year-old, keen to learn about the world. But due to his muscle weakness, he is dependent on intensive medical care, including ventilator support. Despite the devastating effects of this rare condition, Eric and his parents are fighting every day for the beautiful things in life to outweigh the difficult ones.

All donations will be directed to the Myotubular Trust (UK registered charity no. 1137177) and will be invested to 100% into scientific research of MTM1 to give Eric and many other affected children, a chance to live a long and happy life.
