Story

Andy sadly and unexpectedly took his own life in September 2014 which has left a massive hole in the lives of his family, friends and colleagues.

One of the most charismatic and funniest guys you'd ever meet, his suicide was a shock to all who knew him.

His competitive spirit and sense of pride saw him take on a number of endurance events in the mountains which he loved, but it also prevented him from accepting the support of family, friends and professionals, which could have helped him when he needed it most.

Andy had taken part in the Snowdon 7's Mountain Race (www.snowdonia7.co.uk) for many consecutive years. At 2015's his friendship, humour and support will be sadly missed. His navigation skills however, won't be!

A number of his friends and colleagues will be taking part in the event again this year on Saturday 4th July. However the purpose this time will be to raise awareness and funds for two very important organisations.

The Samaritans
With some many great charities and organisations committed to the prevention of Suicide in the UK, The Samaritans provides around the clock support for those wishing to access their services.

Keswick Mountain Rescue - An organisation Andy and many of his friends had great respect and appreciation for, spending much of his time running in the mountains of the Lake Districthttp://www.keswickmrt.org.uk

With the event taking place in the mountains of Snowdon, a donation will also be made to Llanberis Mountain Rescue Team who kindly support the race every year.
