Story
Our charity supports Thekwane High School, a school in the south west of Zimbabwe founded and run by the Methodist Church since 1924. We attended the school in the 1970's. Currently the school gets its electricity supply from the national grid supplemented by a diesel generator. The national grid is unreliable at best and available at odd times which does not help the students. Diesel fuel is an expensive and scarce commodity in Zimbabwe at the moment. We are walking the Great Glen Way in Scotland to raise funds towards the purchase and installation of a solar system which will provide the school with a reliable and constant power supply. The cost of installing a comprehensive system has been quoted at $72000.00 USD
The Great Glen Way is about 79 miles long starting Ft William and ending in Inverness following the Caledonia Canal. We shall be doing this over five days from 10th to the 14th April 2022
