Story
Climb 4 Kim is a charity initiative in memory of Kim Rosenfeld to raise money for several different charities and causes by climbing up mountains. The first of these climbs will be in March 2018 in Morocco by climbing up Mount Toubkal, the highest peak in the Atlas Mountains!
Some interesting facts about the mountain:
- It is not just the highest peak in Morocco, but the highest peak in North Africa and the Arab World…the perfect ascent for a predominantly Jewish hiking clan!
- It is 4,167m high – the equivalent of 3 Ben Nevises!
- From the top of the mountain you can see as far as the Sahara Desert
- It was first climbed in 1923 – less than 100 years ago!
- The temperature at the top from the base of the mountain can vary up to 30 degrees!
4167m is very high... 13123ft in other words – or 1975 Peter Crouch’s! This will require some climbing training and a good level of fitness to do...eek!
One charity that we will be raising money for will be Pancreatic Cancer Action - a charity that is helping to fight a disease close to mine and my family's heart.
Pancreatic Cancer Action are a national charity dedicated to saving lives by improving early diagnosis of pancreatic cancer and the quality of patient survival. with your help we fund vital research, create medical education programmes, produce national awareness campaigns and vital patient information.
Thank you!
