I'm going to be climbing Mount Kilimanjaro, setting off in the second week of February on behalf of Prior's Court School, a residential specialist school for children with autism and severe learning difficulties.

As the father of a pupil at Prior’s Court School, I have first hand experience of the excellent work they do and the progress the children there make.  The School provide 24-hour programme of care and education which the children require. Most are non-verbal and need a high level of support to help them achieve the lifeskills necessary to lead as independent a life as possible.

It’s going to be very tough but I'm determined to complete the climb in order to raise money to help fund the purchase and running costs of a new Citroen Berlingo which will be a vital resource for the children.

As part of their Waking Day Curriculum, the children frequently access the local community to build the skills learnt in the school, for example attending local clubs, such as cubs and scouts, buying food, going to local parks and to the hospital.  A new Berlingo will ensure the children can continue to access the community, helping enhance their learning and experience.
