No parent expects to live longer than their child, but for many of the families we support, this is a reality. Julia's House, the Dorset & Wiltshire Children's Hospice charity provides frequent respite care for children and support for their families at home, in the community and at our hospice.

Story

17-03-1978 Allan and I came into the world ! straight away he was taken and placed into special care, Allan was a "PIE" baby ( pyloric stenosis) Surgery was required and for those that knew and loved him his "shark bite" was born, Adhesions would regularly grow from his scar and coupled with his chronic asthma ment he spent a lot of his childhood in hospital, This is where Julia came on the scene, Julia was a pedeatric nurse and would come and see Allan at home, It was Julia that metioned to my Mum about a care facility in Brighton, Mum was afraid of Allan being so far away from us so he never went, It was this time that Julia would say how the Poole/Bournemouth area needed a place locally for care and would chat with my Mum that it was her dream to do this, little did we know then what she would go on to achieve.

Julia's house help so many people, and offer some much needed care, guidance and support to the most vunerable among us. They are local so the money you donate helps "local" children that alot of you will know and read about.
