Rainbow Trust Children's Charity supports families who have a child with a serious or life-threatening illness. Rainbow Trust pairs each family with an expert Family Support Worker who enables them to make the most of time together, giving them practical and emotional support.

Story

This year CMS Cameron McKenna has chosen Rainbow Trust Children’s Charity as our Charity of the year.  We believe the charity we have chosen to be a very worthwhile cause and it means something to us all to be able to help those families who have a child in their family with a life threatening illness. “When your world is turned upside down by having a child who is ill, sometimes you just need someone you can rely on – I have always been able to rely on Rainbow’s Support”

10,000 families in have a child with a terminal illness at any one time.  Established in 1986, Rainbow Trust is a unique and special charity that provides practical and emotional support to families who are facing the unimaginable prospect of losing their child.

Regional Family Support Workers provide bespoke care to all family members in their own homes through diagnosis, treatment and beyond bereavement ensuring they have someone to rely on at all times, as long as is necessary.  This complements the much needed respite breaks offered at two Rainbow Houses in Surrey and Northumberland where families with a very sick child can come to rest, recuperate and spend quality time together.

Rainbow Trust supports families with a child up to the age of 18 helping them to maintain a sense of normality through very traumatic times.  The charity relies 100% on voluntary donations to raise £3m each year, with this they support 1000 families which is just 10% of those who really need our help.

“The best place to cry is in the bathroom, as no one knows your face is wet - but the really hard bit is always having to be nice to her.  I love my sister very much and I know she is ill and I wish she wasn’t, but sometimes I need mummy and daddy to be there for me.  They weren’t there when I got my prize at assembly and they promised they would be.”  Sister
